Lock and Load Invitational Meet

4 of us lifted– Mike R, Shelley Hancock, Kyle Lauck and stef– and 3/4 set more than one PR with Rip coaching everyone through both sessions. Kyle qualified for School Age Nationals with his total of 180.

Thanks to Tom Witherspoon and the rest of the Spoon Barbell crew for hosting the meet. There’s nothing quite like lifting at the spectacular Van Alstyne Fine Arts & Recreation Center.

NB: Our next meet is penciled in– July 17th at WFAC. Stay tuned for updates and entry information.

In addition to coaching, Rip was also good for transport to & from, and bbq and coffee after.

We’ll have to make it up to him this weekend at the WFAC BBQ.

Guide to Wichita Falls

A current project is a Guide to Wichita Falls to help out all the people who’re coming to train with us. An initial version is posted here. Categories include Getting In/Out, Getting Around, Hotels, Food (grocery stores, all you can eat places, milk, coffee, bbq, hamburgers, alcohol, other good food, weird things in wichita falls). It’s not meant to be exhaustive, but a listing of the BEST. Check it out and let us know if you have any suggestions!

The oval logo (see header) is the most familiar. But here’s another old WFAC logo. Look for it to make another appearance soon…
